The Storm-Bearer
KwynnDragavon
“The storm found him before he knew his name.”
LightbringerThe Lightbringer Cycle · Epic Fantasy
Some inherit a name.
Some inherit the storm.
A sweeping saga of storm-blood, found family, and the impossible roads between worlds.
The saga
The Lightbringer cycle follows heroes who inherit more than weapons and bloodlines. It begins in a snowbound border town—and rises into a sky filled with kingdoms, flying islands, and old powers waking.

The beginning
Long before the Lightbringer crossed the clouds, Kwynn was a temple boy in Blackburn: dutiful, brave, and certain his whole life fit within its walls. Then the road was claimed by men who believed no one would answer.

The world of Eryndrael
Kingdoms cling to old roads while rifts open above the sea. Beyond them wait flying islands, strange magic, and cities whose doors lead farther than any ship can sail.
The faiths of Eryndrael
Each of Eryndrael's Seven is openly worshipped through four Aspects. Senior clergy are taught that every god bears a Fifth—not an evil twin, but a difficult truth that becomes dangerous when severed from the other four. Most people call every place of worship a temple; each Aspect keeps a name of its own.
The god of change
All that begins, transforms, and burns toward a new shape.
DisciplesChildren of Dawn
“Rise with the light. Lift those who cannot. Make of every ending a beginning.”
Disciplesthe Tempered
“Shape with purpose. Mend what can be mended. Leave your work stronger than you found it.”
DisciplesVoices of the Storm
“Do not cling to what must change. Face the storm standing. Break the bonds that keep life from moving.”
DisciplesKindlers
“Kindle what is worthy. Feed the fire in others. Let passion illuminate, never consume.”
Known only to the initiated
Nothing new can exist until something old is allowed to end.
“Know what must end. Cut cleanly. Make room for what comes after.”
The god of what remains
All that is rooted, sheltered, remembered, and carried onward.
DisciplesTenders of the Earth
“Tend what sustains you. Take no more than can return. Leave the earth richer for those who follow.”
DisciplesHearthkin
“Keep the fire. Open the door. Let no one beneath your roof face the dark alone.”
DisciplesGreenbound
“Walk as part of the living world. Take only what you need. Guard what cannot guard itself.”
DisciplesWardens
“Stand firm. Hold what must be held. Bear what others cannot.”
Known only to the initiated
To endure, life consumes life; preservation always carries a cost.
“Nothing endures without cost. Take only what survival demands. Know what you are willing to spend.”
The god of thresholds
All that waits across the border of road, dream, death, and knowing.
DisciplesKeepers of the Crossing
“Meet every threshold with dignity. Release what cannot remain. Carry the names of those who have crossed.”
DisciplesWalkers of the Way
“Step beyond the known. Leave signs for those behind you. No road is yours alone.”
DisciplesListeners in Dream
“Listen to what waking cannot hear. Question every vision. Bring back only what serves the waking world.”
DisciplesKeepers of the Veil
“Seek what is hidden. Guard what should not be revealed. Let knowledge make you wiser, not merely powerful.”
Known only to the initiated
Beyond every name lies what mortal understanding cannot hold.
“Accept what cannot be known. Do not force a name upon every mystery. Bow before the limits of understanding.”
Decay · weakness · betrayal · dominion
Corruption is not merely the end of endurance, but the deliberate twisting of it. From strength it forges weakness; from trust, betrayal; from life, dominion.
DisciplesBreakers
“Break them. Let none stand who would defy you.”
Disciplesthe Warped
“Twist their will. Make their purpose your weapon. Let nothing be truly their own.”
DisciplesBlightbearers
“Let the storm fester within. Corrupt, and be corrupted. All things fade.”
Disciplesthe Bound
“Live through others. Feed on their suffering. Let your name be carved from their broken lives.”
Known only to the initiated
Corruption in all its forms: one will, four chains, endless dominion.
“When the four twisted Aspects unite, they form the unyielding foundation of Corruption.”
The god of what fades
All things break. All things fade. All things return. In the end, only decay is true.
DisciplesCorroders
“Nothing stands forever. I weaken what others build and call strong.”
DisciplesFalsefaces
“Truth is a mask. Wear it well. Beneath it, all is yours.”
Disciplesthe Withered
“All things have limits. I take what remains and leave only less.”
Disciplesthe Final
“All journeys end. I grant the silence that none escape.”
Known only to the initiated
Decay in all its forms: one truth, four paths, endless return.
“When the four Aspects unite, they form the unending rot of Decay. All things fall. All things return.”
The god of falsehood and illusion
Deceit is not merely falsehood, but the art of unmaking certainty. None are immune, for all wear masks, and the God of Deceit wears them all.
DisciplesMurmurers
“A word becomes a seed, and truth forgets it was sown.”
Disciplesthe Veiled
“Where light reaches not, truth rots unseen.”
DisciplesOathbreakers
“Trust is a mirror. I show its fracture.”
DisciplesPuppeteers
“You believe you choose. I chose the choices.”
Known only to the initiated
The hidden face. The lie that chooses its own shape.
“The truth is most useful when bent.”
Ambition · deception · loss · dominion
To unravel is to strip away, to tear down, to reveal the raw beneath the false. The God of Unraveling is born not of creation, but of undone things.
DisciplesUnmakers
“Nothing is forever. Break what others fear to touch.”
DisciplesDeceivers
“Truth is a chain. Wear another face. Own the mind.”
DisciplesUnveilers
“All things hide. Show what others desperately bury.”
DisciplesOverseers
“Bow, or be broken. Obey, or be forgotten. Rule what remains.”
Known only to the initiated
Unraveling devours and reveals, seeking the fracture beneath the surface and the weakness beneath strength.
“When the four Aspects unite, they open the void—the space where all bonds are undone.”
The heart of the voyage
The Lightbringer is a magical skyship granted by the King of Steinbeck. Its ten-person operating crew carries the heroes into the unmapped sky.
The operating crew of the Lightbringer
The Lightbringer carries a professional crew of ten in addition to Kwynn and the other heroes. These are the people who command, navigate, maintain, provision, and work the vessel that carries them into the unmapped sky.
Captain
Career sky-captain who brought the Lightbringer to Arboure. Formal, exacting, and dryly funny, she remained with her command when offered passage home.
First Helm Officer / First Officer
Myriam’s senior deputy. Calm, methodical, and almost impossible to rattle. One of only three people aboard qualified to command the ship safely.
Second Helm Officer / Navigator
Observant and quick-minded. She handles charts, altitude routes, winds, and much of the navigation, and is the third qualified ship commander.
Senior Engineer
Blunt, technically authoritative, and already known to Kwynn from the sky-dock crisis. She personally requested this commission and oversees the ship’s liftstones and control systems.
Assistant Engineer / Liftstone Mechanic
Quiet, meticulous, and happier with machinery than conversation. Ilyra’s second, and the first to notice a vibration everyone else dismisses.
Purser / Quartermaster
Practical and intensely organized. She manages provisions, manifests, cargo, money, and weight records—and decides where every crate goes.
Boatswain / Lead Rigger
Weathered, experienced, and less formal than Myriam. He runs the working deck: sails, rigging, moorings, harness discipline, and exterior maintenance.
Rigger / Deckhand
An agile climber at ease high in the rigging. She handles the luminous sails and much of the work no sensible person wants to do while looking down.
Deckhand / Lookout
An experienced seaman learning skyship practice. Strong with rope and moorings, though still occasionally caught treating the vessel like an ordinary ship.
Cook / General Hand
Cook, relief deckhand, stores assistant, and whatever else is needed. Grounded and practical, she hears nearly everything aboard without seeking gossip.

The storm is only the beginning
